Alone again...

But not for long! Kurt has started the forest service again today. Which means i'm left home alone to pack. Pack? Yes. We are moving to Beaver for the summer to save money. I've had mixed feelings about moving there only because Kurt will be on fires all summer and I don't really know anyone in Beaver so i'll be alone a lot. But I've decided that it will be OK. I'm getting a job there, don't know where yet, but I am. Then come fall, back to Cedar I go, and clear up to Logan Kurt goes. Kurt is transferring to Utah State to finish his engineering degree there. USU supposedly has the best engineering program in the state so i'm happy for him. I, on the other hand, will be finishing my degree in Cedar. I'm student teaching at Iron Springs elementary in third and fifth grade classes. I originally wanted to student teach in Logan but I was discouraged to do so by a grumpy professor at SUU. He said USU doesn't like us in their territory. WHATEV. It'll only be for 60 days so I think we can handle it. Which means i'm moving to Logan at the beginning of winter. Don't know how I feel about that. It will definitely take some getting used to. Everyone we've talked to has LOVED living in Logan so that is a comfort. I'm excited to start a new adventure. As for now our summer will consist of, some fires (hopefully), a job for me, Lake Powell, The Little Mermaid at Tuachan (i'm stoked), many visits to Manti, maybe some camping here and there, some hiking, and whatever else we decide to do. I love summer. This is where we were last summer around this time...

Easter

Easter had a more significant meaning for me this year because Kurt helped me more fully understand our Savior, Jesus Christ's, atoning sacrifice. I know that i'm 22 and your thinking, "wow I understood that in primary", but I've always felt like the atonement was too enormous to fully comprehend. On the drive to Manti Kurt and I had a heartfelt discussion about the atonement and he explained it to me in simple terms so I could understand. I am so grateful for for Kurt, and for my Savior.

Now on to the egg coloring cuz that's pretty much all we did!

We had two easter egg coloring sessions. The first was with a group of our neighbors here in Cedar. We do a game night every now and then. Since everyone is moving away we decided to have a fun night coloring eggs and playing games for the last time.

These are mine. The all pink one is sparkly!

Then there was more egg coloring in the Soper household.

And this cute Bug decided to join/help us!

Laney had never colored eggs before. She thought we were going to paint them with actual paint! She loved it even though it doesn't look like it in this picture. :)

Of course Kurt and Austin have to be inappropriate with the eggs. That would be Austin's finger pointing in case you were wondering.

Don't mind Kurt with his eyes closed! Austin thought his egg won, but mine were so much cooler.

Fun Fact: On Sunday we went to church with my parents and in sacrament meeting this returned missionary said "um" 327 times. This is no joke. Kurt kept a tally. Is that mean? I'm sure he is a really nice young man who touched a lot a lives but 327? He had a box of "ums" for breakfast for sure!

Stand Out, Above the crowd...

Even if I gotta shout out loud! In case you didn't know that is from the Goofy Movie. An all time favorite of mine. Back to the title. Standing out is exactly what this beauty did. While I was in the blogging mood, I decided to give a shout out to my pretty little sister who is the newest member of the Snow College Ambassadors. They chose ten out of three hundred applicants and it doesn't surprise me, one bit, that she is one of the ten. There are two interviews. The first is just a one-on-one interview (probably making sure you not psycho or something like that), and the second interview is full of skits,games, and craziness with a group of other kids trying-out. Some the things they look for in an ambassador are, a people person, outgoing, fun, cute, a good leader, fun ideas, and not afraid to try anything new. Ashley is all of the above. Did I mention they get a two year scholarship? Pretty sweet deal! She is going to make so many friends and have so much fun. I'm so proud of her and I can truely say she is my best friend. Anyone who gets a campus tour by this chica is super duper lucky. Love you Smash.

A Beautiful Blessing

We also went to California to see Kelli, Kurt's sister, and her husband bless their darling little boy Braxzyn. Isn't he precious?

Kelli asked Kurt to bless Braxzyn and he was so honored and touched. Kurt gave him a beautiful blessing and the spirit touched me as this baby boy was blessed with a sound mind, heart and testimony. Baby blessings are so special to me and I can't wait until Kurt can bless our own baby someday. We love this cute little family Fletcher family. Thank you Kelli for letting us be a part of Braxzyn's special day.

March-I like it

I like March for a couple of reasons...

-Spring Break
-My Birthday
-My Grandpa's birthday (which is the same day as mine)
-Kurt's Birthday
-Austin's Birthday( There are a lot of birthday's in March in both Soper and Marchant families)
-Last teaching practicum (in Price)
-The finale of the Bachelor
-Spring is here and everything turns green again
-Summer is around the corner and school is almost out

I love Birthdays and I loved it today when my friend Allison and I were substituting a 6th grade class she realized it was the first day of March and she said...

I really loved it and I got really excited. I love that she said it even though my birthday is 21 days away. Did I mention that mine and Kurt's Birthday are TWO days apart? That makes for excellent birthday fun! Oh and another fun fact for the day, i'll be 22 on the 22nd. Yeah. How often does that happen? Only once for me :).

I have mixed feelings about this teaching practicum in Price. I'm terrified because one day i'm teaching kindergarten and the next day i'm teaching 5th grade. Can you say complete opposites? I'm excited because my group of friends and I are staying in a hotel for the whole week. These girls are so fun! There are 5 of us and it will be crowded but pretty darn fun. And i'll be sad because i'll leave Kurt here for a week. It's crazy to think we have already come to our last teaching practicum. It's gone by so fast and before I know it i'll be student teaching!

I really LOVE March! Happy Birthday to Kurt, Me and anyone else who has a birthday in the wonderful month of March!!!
